From waiting in virtual online queues for two hours to waiting in queue’s outside our local supermarkets just to grab a loaf of bread, it seems we have encountered a strange new reality that we now call “normal” in 2020. We all have been affected in many ways with the outbreak of COVID-19 and when desperate times call for desperate measures, we can always rely on community to step out and support those who need it the most. It has been a lovely sight to see, from friend’s to strangers dipping into their pockets or using their talents to promote, entertain and put a smile on those who desperately need it. I have seen so much information for Birmingham based businesses from social media posts to media coverage and articles in how you can help these businesses, but I have not seen much for the North of Birmingham where I am based. As a local myself, I have recently struggled with who’s offering what and keeping up to date with this information. So, I thought I would put together a self-help guide with lots of local information to those who are based in the North of Birmingham on where you can grab your weekly shop without leaving the house or how you can keep yourself entertained and the kids also within your living rooms.
