So, I have created a list of restaurants, hotels and entertainment venues that are opening in Birmingham and Beyond. BURGER BOI

Launched in Wolverhampton in 2021 and is now taken over the Midlands! Home of the smashed burgers and next level fried chicken, Burger Boi is coming to Wylde Green on Birmingham Road this Summer!

BAKEHOUSE BY BAKED IN BRICK
WHERE: Holland Road, Sutton Coldfield
WHEN: AUGUST 2022
Lee Desanges owner of Baked in Brick is set to open his third premises on Holland road taking over Adams Ironmongers shop to open a new cafe and bakery that’s over three floors. Offering coffees and bakery items plus the cafe will be open in the evenings to serve food, wine and beer. This is certainly bringing a lot of excitement to Sutton Coldfield and hope more will follow in Lees’s footsteps coming over to the North.

YORKS PARADISE
WHERE: Paradise Circus, Chamberlain Sq, Birmingham

A great Indepedent Coffee shop Yorks will be opening a brand new cafe and all day dining restaurant in Paradise. Expect Yorks to open around July/August 2022.

THE COCKTAIL CLUB

THE COCKTAIL CLUB IS HEADED TO BIRMINGHAM!
With an interior designed by a world-renowned UK designer, the bar will bring its
‘World’s Hottest Happy Hour’, Themed Birthday Packages and 00’s Bottomless Brunch.
As their largest venue to date, the ‘high energy’ bar will have a capacity of 450, set across
two floors and three rooms. The bar’s ‘World’s Hottest Happy Hour’ will run seven days a
week, offering 2-4-1 on every drink until 8pm daily. Party packages will also be on offer, with
guests able to book cocktail masterclasses alongside private room and venue hire. As well
as an ‘outrageous’ 00’s Bottomless Brunch which will run every Saturday daytime, offering
guests the ‘ultimate weekend party’ with a jam-packed day of ‘freaky throwbacks, mega
mischief and all-round f*ckery’ Now this sounds like my cup of tea….

PASSING FANCIES

Tommy Matthews, former bar manager of Couch and The Edgbaston has joined forces with Matt Arnold and Eve Green of The Edgbaston and Grain & Glass. Passing Fancies will take up residence in Digbeth’s iconic Custard Factory with a venue large enough for 54 covers. With a layout akin to ‘the kitchen at a house party!’

KARENS
WHERE: GRAND CENTRAL, BIRMINGHAM

That restaurant where the staff are rude as f*** to you and the aim of your dining experience is to complain…Not sure how this will go down but yeah, its coming!

D&D LONDON – 103 COLMORE ROW
WHERE: 103 COLMORE ROW, Birmingham
WHEN:OCTOBER 2022

D&D London will take over the prime rooftop space at 103 Colmore Row and will also open a separate cocktail bar and cafe on the ground floor. D&D Rooftop restaurant which will be called “Orelle” will give diners panoramic views across the City and a pretty spectacular dining experience.
FUTURE OPENINGS/JUST ANNOUNCED

NEW RESTAURANT BY GLYNN PURNELL
WHERE: 121 Edmund Street, Birmingham
WHEN: Date TBC 2022

Glynn Purnell of Michelin-starred restaurant Purnells is opening a small tapas bar serving small plates, great wine and cocktails. More information to come, but we can’t wait for this one!

THE SKY LOUNGE AT 100 BROAD STREET
WHERE: Broad Street, Birmingham
WHEN: DEVELOPMENT WILL FINISH IN 2024
100 Broad Street is set to be one of the tallest buildings in the UK, outside of London. The scheme has been granted full planning approval by Birmingham City Council. Comprising of 500 high-end luxury apartments with unique panoramic views, a host of first-class residential amenity space and activated commercial ground floor uses contributing positively to the evolving Broad Street offer. Located within the building’s glazed crown will be the highest altitude dining experience found in the UK outside of the capital with a sky lounge and fine dining restaurant.

DAMASCENA
WHERE: Lyndon house, Edgbaston
WHEN: 2022 – DATE TBC

Damascena will be opening their 5th restaurant in Edgbaston in 2022. The popular Middle Eastern coffee house, delicatessen and bakery will include 1,980 sq ft of indoor space, with a capacity for 41 people seated, along with an attractive 590 sq ft garden terrace which will be perfect for alfresco dining which is expected to seat a further 29. They also will include a Barista school.

GIN & JUICE
WHERE: Cathedral Square, Birmingham
WHEN: DATE TBC

Open from dusk till dawn, this cosy eatery serves a selection of brunch dishes in the day, transforming into a low lit drinking hole in the evening. As I have recently been to the Cheltenham branch, this is one opening I am totally excited about. Vintage-style interiors, candy floss cocktails and mouth-watering brunches to die for! AWAITING MORE INFORMATION

BOXPARK
WHERE: Birmingham TBC
WHEN: TBC – PLANS HAVE BEEN APPROVED
Boxpark has submitted plans to open up a new site in Birmingham, The date is TBC, It may not be 2021 but I added it to the guide BECAUSE THIS IS SO EXCITING. Boxpark is a massive event venue and is currently the biggest food, culture, and social hub in London. This will be a unique experience bringing the people of Brum together to EAT, DRINK, AND PLAY.

ROBATA
WHERE: 92-98 COLMORE ROW, B3 EBD
WHEN: OPENING DATE IS TBC – 2022
An exciting addition to Birmingham city centre, the restaurant is the second venue under the Robata moniker, with the first launched in Central London in 2019. The restaurant will open on Colmore Row serving up a great variety such as mixed grill skewers, bao buns, raw dishes and Smokey meat and veg dishes.

NORTH FISH
WHERE: The Bullring
WHEN: OPENING DATE IS TBC
Polish restaurant chain North fish is coming to The Bullring, opening its first UK restaurant right here in Birmingham! The chain will offer healthy menu items such as battered squid and prawns, tuna burgers and salmon tortilla wraps.

This is actually really positive to see, with so much going on, I am so glad that people are still moving forward with business plans. I can’t wait to go out again, eat and drink and celebrate.
