So, I have created a list of restaurants, hotels and entertainment venues that are opening in Birmingham and Beyond in 2021. DECEMBER 2020 NEW OPENINGS





VIETNAMESE STREET KITCHEN
Where: Bullring/Birmingham
Vietnamese Street Kitchen has moved to a new location in The Bullring serving authentic Vietnamese food, due to open in December however CO-VID restrictions have put back the re-opening to 2021-awaiting restrictions to be lifted.

THE GRAND HOTEL
Where: Colmore Row/B3 2BS
The re-opening of the Grand Hotel was on 4th November however this was delayed due to Lockdown,The hotel will re-open when CO-VID restrictions have been lifted then you’ll be able to book a room, and cocktails or afternoon tea in the Madeleine bar.


2021 NEW OPENINGS



THE ROLLING MILL
Where: JEWELLERY QUARTER
Brand new bar and restaurant set to open its doors in early 2021 in the heart of the JQ. Indoor and outdoor space, covered courtyard, heated mezzanine rooftop, two bars and a private terrace!

ART.QUARTER
Where: Digbeth
A new style of retail complex is coming to Digbeth 2021! Three floors of culture and creativity including a food court, barbers, hair salon dessert parlour, multimedia centre, retail space and more! Looking to open these spaces throughout 2021, Art Barbers is already open and the hair salon is looking to open in January.

HAIDILAO
Where: The Bullring/ST Martins Square
Replacing Jamies Italian, Haidilao is opening their third site in Birmingham in early 2021. Serving up traditional hot pots where you pick your ingredients, you can also choose from noodle, soups and meat dishes.




TREETOP ADVENTURE GOLF
Where: The Bullring/Birmingham
18-hole indoor mini-golf courses surrounded by rainforest, ancient ruins and waterfalls?! Accompanied by Pizza Cabana to feast on after your game, cocktails and mocktails from The Thirsty Toucan and coffee from the Rainforest Roast Cafe looking to open in SPRING 2021


SOBREMESA
Where: Digbeth
Ridding & Wynn and BA-HA Vegan have teamed up to bring SOBREMESA to the quirky and colourful Digbeth neighbourhood. It’s a Bar, Restaurant, Store, and maybe a little bit more! A place with a real family feel where shoppers can buy EVERYTHING that’s in the venue!Thats including the chair you are sitting on Bab! BA-HA will be serving up the delicious meat-free cuisine and will also be available across The Courtyard at Stag Digbeth. Now open for take away

PERIOS
Where: Brindley Place
PERIOS is a Tex-Mex concept, based on flavours. They serve Mexican classics such as tacos, burritos, nachos, as well as American burgers, and let’s not forget about their fabulous cocktails! They have taken over the old Handmade Burger Co site by the canal in Brindley Place and hope to open early this year.

GROUNDED KITCHEN
Where: Moseley
“Get Real, Get Grounded” Grounded Kitchen is coming to Moseley, March 2021 due to the pandemic but they hope to be opening soon. They will be serving up Nutritious Nourishing Bowls, Korean Inspired Buddha Bowls, Bulgogi Chicken Bowls and more! Keep up to date with the latest on their Instagram.

KARAAGE
Where: Moseley
Discover the world of Japanese Fried Chicken in the quirky atmosphere of Karaage’s very first restaurant! The menu sounds fantastic with plenty of Japanese Fried Chicken options as well as Curries, Burgers, Yakisoba and more! They are open for delivery and click + collect now!



ATE-STREET FOOD KITCHEN
Where: Worcester Road, Bromsgrove
Introducing Ate a new street food kitchen opening on 11th March showcasing the best street food from the Midlands and Beyond. Kodawari are confirmed as the first traders and are going to be serving up their delicious Japanese food from 11th-13th March.

SHIBUYA UNDERGROUND
Where: Birmingham
Let Shibuya Underground take you on a liquid journey around Japan, showcasing each authentic drinks flight through stories and tales from the East. Whilst discovering philosophies, culture and flavours, let the smells, tastes and sensations transport you to Japan in an instant. This sounds amazing and we can’t wait to find out more! The date is yet to be confirmed.



LUNA SPRINGS
Where: Digbeth
Opening on 12th April we have Luna Springs at The Digbeth Arena with a capacity of 3,500! What you can expect is Live music, cocktails, street food, bottomless brunch and embracing Birmingham’s creative energy Bab!


BOXPARK
Where: Birmingham TBC
Boxpark has submitted plans to open up a new site in Birmingham, The date is TBC, It may not be 2021 but I added it to the guide BECAUSE THIS IS SO EXCITING. Boxpark is a massive event venue and is currently the biggest food, culture, and social hub in London. This will be a unique experience bringing the people of Brum together to EAT, DRINK, AND PLAY.


OTTO
Where: Sutton Coldfield (In former Bodega site)
Otto opened up their second site in Lichfield before Christmas and now, they have announced plans to open their third site in Sutton Coldfield in the late Spring! Sutton is screaming for more great Independents, so we definitely can not wait for some delicious Italian Cuisine for us to all indulge in.

KOUZINA GREEK MEZE
Where: Selfridges – The Bullring
Street Kitchen Brothers are going to be launching their new Kouzina Greek Meze restaurant in Selfridges Birmingham soon as restrictions are lifted but will be offering the option of takeaway. They will be the first Greek restaurant to partner up with Selfridges! More updates to come.

ZUMHOF FOOD MARKT.
Where: Zumhof Biergarten-Second floor
Zumhof will be re-opening on April 12th with a SEVEN DAY LAUNCH PARTY and a brand new Food Märkt upstairs where Birmingham’s top food traders bring you the best scran in the city including Bonehead and Foodie Legend “The Fat Foodie” with new burger joint Meats Meet Bun.


RED BRICK MARKET BIRMINGHAM
Where: Floodgate Street, Digbeth
A brand new alternative retail offering. A true colourful cocktail of independent small businesses, artists and makers. Vintage, antique, new alongside old, sustainable fashion and zero waste. Red Brick Market will be opening on 12th April and will be open 7 days a week, expect a colourful shopping experience showcasing the best of Birmingham’s small independents, artists, and creatives.

STICKIE FINGERS
Where: Bournville
Stickie Fingers is opening up their second branch in Bournville aiming for a mid-April opening! Serving up their delicious pancakes, doughnuts, crepes and shakes. They will be offering delivery & takeaway options , and we can’t wait to check it out!

Q BOX BIRMINGHAM
Where: Harborne High Street
QBOX is a high-end takeaway restaurant offering click and collect and by day a Deli that will serve coffee, freshly baked sourdough and seasonal salads. The concept is based around bbq chicken and bbq vegetarian mains with your choice of different season salads, sides and a variety of sauces! QBOX is looking to open this May so keep an eye out for more information.

This is actually really positive to see, with so much going on, I am so glad that people are still moving forward with business plans. I can’t wait to go out again, eat and drink and celebrate.
