There seems to be a new opening every week in Birmingham, It’s hard to keep up with you Brum! So, I have created a list of restaurants, hotels and entertainment venues that are opening in Birmingham and Beyond. THE FOUR OAKS

WHERE: Belwell Lane, Sutton Coldfield

WHEN: MAY 2022

The Four Oaks in Sutton Coldfield is currently undergoing a big transformation.Expect stunning new interiors, an enhanced outdoor space and an outstanding new food menu.


BAKEHOUSE BY BAKED IN BRICK

WHERE: Holland Road, Sutton Coldfield

WHEN: END OF APRIL/MAY 2022

Lee Desanges owner of Baked in Brick is set to open his third premises on Holland road taking over Adams Ironmongers shop to open a new cafe and bakery that’s over three floors. Offering coffees and bakery items plus the cafe will be open in the evenings to serve food, wine and beer. This is certainly bringing a lot of excitement to Sutton Coldfield and hope more will follow in Lees’s footsteps coming over to the North.


THE STEAMHOUSE DEPOT

WHERE: 54 Morton Street, Leamington Spa

WHEN: MARCH 2022

The team behind Steamhouse are bringing you something a little bit different this year! A full kitchen serving brunch all day as well as take away coffee, bread, and pastries. This will be a larger premises compared to the Steamhouses small bagel bakeries and will 80 covers inside and 16 covers outside in the undercover terrace.


NOIR

WHERE: Kings Heath

WHEN: SOFT LAUNCH ON 29TH JANUARY 2022

Specialising in Caribbean-infused foods (open for eat-in and takeaway). Noir will also be offering breakfast, cakes and coffee, alongside cocktails in the evening.


BAKER ST CAKES

WHERE: Moseley

WHEN: OPEN NOW

Multi Award-winning Macaron & Cake Boutique is opening up in Kings Heath in February, They are known for their elegant, bright and creative selection of freshly baked sweet treats and beautifully detailed cakes. I think they will settle in quite well in Kings Heath, this is certainly one opening not to be missed!


MELT

WHERE: Moseley

WHEN: OPEN NOW

Cafe and melted Cheeserie MELT will be opening in Moseley mid-Feb, they will be serving breakfast, brunches, grilled cheese creations, fondue and some delicious wines to wash it all down!


GRACE & SAVOUR

WHERE: Hampton Manor, Solihull

WHEN: OPEN NOW

Hampton Manors new walled garden restaurant Grace & Savour will be opening at the end of February 2022. It’s an immersive dining experience with a cookery school and luxury accommodation – Expect the finest foodie experience with dishes that celebrate a revolution in growing and farming. Reservations for the full foodie escape experience which include 15 courses, a night in one of their beautiful garden rooms, breakfast and a workshop in their newly developed kitchen will go live on Tuesday 9th January 2022. Be quick, I feel this might be the best opening of 2022.


SHIBUYA UNDERGROUND

Second restaurant/bar from The Pineapple Club where the location is TOP SECRET. Shibuya Underground is a brand new 8 seater Cocktail and Sake bar that will offer diners an immersive cocktail and food tour of Japan with Sake sessions and tasting menus.


THE COCONUT TREE

WHERE: 22 Gas Street, Birmingham

WHEN:EARLY 2022

Bringing a little piece of Sri Lankan hospitality and warm Island vibes to Gas Street in Birmingham this early 2022. Serving up smaller tapas-style dishes and larger sharing dishes embracing plants, fish and meat. Island flavours and good vibes are coming very soon Brum!


HANBAO

WHERE: Floodgate Street, Digbeth, Birmingham

WHEN: EARLY 2022/MARCH 2022

HANBAO is opening their second venue in Digbeth. Expect mouth-watering buns and good vibes, they’ve made quite a name for themselves in Worcester so I am pretty sure they going to be causing a big buzz in Birmingham . The opening date has been pushed back to 2022 (They did plan to open in 2021) so expect to see them opening in early 2022!


WAVY WINGS

WHERE: Kingsbury Road, Erdington

WHEN: OPEN NOW

Wavy Wings based in Birmingham serve up delicious and mouth-watering chicken wings, burgers and seafood dishes, they create amazing platters that people rave about very highly. After massive success they will be opening their first store in Erdington and are hoping to open late January/February 2022. One to look out for this year bab!


THE MOUNT BY GLYNN PURNELL

WHERE: Henley in Arden, Warwickshire

WHEN: MARCH 2022

The Mount by Glynn Purnell is a new and exciting eating & drinking experience, located on the High Street of medieval Warwickshire market town, Henley in Arden. The Mount will be opening in March 2022. More information to come soon!


ALIOLI

WHERE: Touchwood Centre, Solihull

WHEN: MID MARCH

A new modern Spanish tapas restaurant and wine bar Alioli will be arriving in the heart of Solihull around mid-March

KIBOU

WHERE: 134 High Street,Solihull

Based on Solihull High Street (replacing Cafe Rouge) KIBOU is a Japanese hot kitchen, ramen and sushi bar which fantastic restaurants in London and Cheltenham. Expect delicious Japanese food, a great range of cocktails, and an ambient indoor and outdoor seating area. A great new addition to Solihull, one that is going to be very popular!


ROLLERJAM

Birmingham’s first innovative Roller Disco skating arena and premier nightclub ‘on wheels’ experience is set to open in Digbeth this Easter! Cocktails, street food, DJS and a proper rolling disco!

VINOTECA

WHERE: Two Chamberlain Square, Paradise, Birmingham

WHEN: DATE TBC 2022

Vinoteca is an independent wine bar, restaurant and shop which first opened at Farringdon in London in 2005. As well as wine bars and restaurants, Vinoteca offers an online wine shop and an award-winning wine club for adventurous drinkers who relish new discoveries, delivered to your home or office each month with tasting and food matching notes. Opening date is TBC but we can expect Vinoteca to open this year


D&D LONDON – 103 COLMORE ROW

WHERE: 103 COLMORE ROW, Birmingham

WHEN:SPRING 2022

D&D London will take over the prime rooftop space at 103 Colmore Row and will also open a separate cocktail bar and cafe on the ground floor. D&D Rooftop restaurant will give diners panoramic views across the City and a pretty spectacular dining experience.


FUTURE OPENINGS/JUST ANNOUNCED

BREW TWENTY THREE

WHERE: Solihull Town Centre

WHEN: Date TBC 2022

Brew Twenty Three will be opening their second venue in Solihull Town Centre. Coffee, Brunch, Juices and more. More information will be provided soon babs!


THE SKY LOUNGE AT 100 BROAD STREET

WHERE: Broad Street, Birmingham

WHEN: DEVELOPMENT WILL FINISH IN 2024

100 Broad Street is set to be one of the tallest buildings in the UK, outside of London. The scheme has been granted full planning approval by Birmingham City Council. Comprising of 500 high-end luxury apartments with unique panoramic views, a host of first-class residential amenity space and activated commercial ground floor uses contributing positively to the evolving Broad Street offer. Located within the building’s glazed crown will be the highest altitude dining experience found in the UK outside of the capital with a sky lounge and fine dining restaurant.


DAMASCENA

WHERE: Lyndon house, Edgbaston

WHEN: 2022 – DATE TBC

Damascena will be opening their 5th restaurant in Edgbaston in 2022. The popular Middle Eastern coffee house, delicatessen and bakery will include 1,980 sq ft of indoor space, with a capacity for 41 people seated, along with an attractive 590 sq ft garden terrace which will be perfect for alfresco dining which is expected to seat a further 29. They also will include a Barista school.


GIN & JUICE

WHERE: Cathedral Square, Birmingham

WHEN: DATE TBC

Open from dusk till dawn, this cosy eatery serves a selection of brunch dishes in the day, transforming into a low lit drinking hole in the evening. As I have recently been to the Cheltenham branch, this is one opening I am totally excited about. Vintage-style interiors, candy floss cocktails and mouth-watering brunches to die for! BOXPARK

WHERE: Birmingham TBC

WHEN: TBC – PLANS HAVE BEEN APPROVED

Boxpark has submitted plans to open up a new site in Birmingham, The date is TBC, It may not be 2021 but I added it to the guide BECAUSE THIS IS SO EXCITING. Boxpark is a massive event venue and is currently the biggest food, culture, and social hub in London. This will be a unique experience bringing the people of Brum together to EAT, DRINK, AND PLAY.


ROBATA

WHERE: 92-98 COLMORE ROW, B3 EBD

WHEN: OPENING DATE IS TBC – 2022

An exciting addition to Birmingham city centre, the restaurant is the second venue under the Robata moniker, with the first launched in Central London in 2019. The restaurant will open on Colmore Row serving up a great variety such as mixed grill skewers, bao buns, raw dishes and Smokey meat and veg dishes.


NORTH FISH

WHERE: The Bullring

WHEN: OPENING DATE IS TBC

Polish restaurant chain North fish is coming to The Bullring, opening its first UK restaurant right here in Birmingham! The chain will offer healthy menu items such as battered squid and prawns, tuna burgers and salmon tortilla wraps.


OTHERWORLD

WHERE: Bennets Hill, Birmingham

WHEN: 2022 – DATE TBC
