If you’re looking for a luxurious yet comforting base to explore Chipping Campden and the surrounding Cotswolds villages, Cotswolds House Hotel & Spa is a truly standout choice. Set right in the heart of Chipping Campden, this award-winning Grade II Regency town house manages to feel both grand and welcoming, blending historic elegance with thoughtful modern touches. From the moment you arrive, there’s an undeniable sense of calm that immediately encourages you to slow down and savour your stay – just what I needed!
We arrived earlier than our official check-in time and were advised that parking is located at the back of the property, close to the spa. It was incredibly easy to find, and we had no trouble securing a space. This already set a positive tone – there’s nothing worse than stressful parking when you’re trying to unwind. To be honest, as it was Autumn, and the Cotswolds is quite the hotspot for many, we did think it would be very busy however, it wasn’t! Walking from the car park toward the hotel, we passed through the beautifully kept gardens, which instantly felt like a hidden sanctuary away from the High Street. There are several seating areas dotted throughout, making it an ideal spot for afternoon drinks, a quiet moment with a book, or simply soaking up the peaceful surroundings with a cup of tea.
As we had booked a spa session, we checked in early and left our bags with reception before heading straight to the spa, which is conveniently located near the car park. The staff were warm, friendly, and efficient, making the process feel seamless and relaxed.We arrived at the spa around 1pm and were pleasantly surprised by how quiet it was. The spa itself is intimate rather than vast, which adds to its charm. It consists of a single, reasonably sized pool,a number of loungers for relaxing, and a sauna room. At spa reception, we were provided with everything we needed – robes, slippers, and towels – and I also noticed additional towels and robes available in the changing rooms.The changing facilities are on the smaller side, with two toilets and limited space to change. I can imagine this could feel slightly cramped during busier periods, but during our visit it was wonderfully calm and quiet, which made the experience feel much more exclusive.The pool temperature was spot on – warm and soothing without being overpowering. There were self-serve facilities for water, tea, and coffee, which was a lovely touch, as well as a spa menu if you wanted to extend your experience further. It felt unhurried and peaceful, exactly what you want from a spa afternoon.
I had booked a back, neck, and shoulder massage, and it was exactly what my tired muscles needed. I was regularly checked on to make sure I was comfortable and happy with the pressure, and I genuinely felt looked after throughout. The massage was deeply relaxing, melting away tension and leaving me feeling completely reset.After our treatments, we returned to the pool area to relax on the loungers until it was time to check into our room – which, surprisingly, came around very quickly. Time really does pass differently when you’re fully relaxed!
Cotswolds House offers 28 individually styled rooms, all varying in shape and size. From snug rooms tucked under the eaves to more luxurious suites, each space has been carefully designed to feel comfortable yet characterful. The décor strikes a perfect balance between classic and contemporary, with understated furnishings lifted by feature bedheads, colourful cushions, and carefully chosen artworks.The main house contains 22 rooms spread across two floors, and it’s worth noting that there are no lifts, so requesting a first-floor room is a good idea if stairs are something you’d prefer to minimise. There are also six garden rooms, some of which feature private hot tubs on their terraces – ideal for a more secluded, indulgent stay.Bathrooms are stocked with Eco-Boutique toiletries, which felt like a lovely, considered detail. Some rooms feature showers only, while others include both baths and showers in different combinations. If you’re booking for the first time, it’s definitely worth calling the hotel to talk through the room options, as they really do vary and offer different advantages. The hotel is also pet-friendly, which is a huge bonus for those travelling with furry companions.
We were checked into a superior room, and the staff kindly guided us up the beautiful spiral staircase. Opening the door, we were greeted by a huge, light-filled room overlooking Chipping Campden High Street. Despite its central location, the room felt peaceful and quiet.The room was extremely spacious and well-equipped, featuring a king-size bed, air conditioning, bathrobes, slippers, a coffee and tea maker, bottled water, desk, hairdryer, iron, mini refrigerator, TV, and wireless internet. The bed itself was exceptionally comfortable – one of those that you sink into and instantly relax.The bathroom was equally impressive: large, elegant, and beautifully decorated, complete with both a bath and shower. It felt luxurious without being over-the-top, and everything was immaculately clean.
That evening, we headed down to Hidcote Brasserie & Grill, and the setting alone is worth a mention. With gorgeous French doors and a stunning interior, it’s a truly beautiful restaurant space that feels both refined and welcoming. The menu focuses on modern British cuisine, executed with care and confidence. We started with freshly baked bread served with olive oil, balsamic vinegar, and Marmite butter – an unexpected addition that completely stole the show. It was so good we ordered a second helping. For mains, Josie chose the steak, which was cooked exactly to her liking, while I went for the seafood linguini. The portion was generous, packed with flavour, and beautifully cooked – so much so that I struggled to finish it. We were far too full for dessert, but we couldn’t resist ordering an espresso martini, which was rich, smooth, and absolutely glorious.
After dinner, we made our way to the Chipping Campden Cocktail Bar, which has a darker, moodier atmosphere compared to the restaurant. It felt intimate and stylish, with a really cool vibe that made it the perfect place for a post-dinner drink. The cocktails were excellent, and it was the ideal way to wind down before heading back upstairs.
The next morning, breakfast was served back in the restaurant. We started with the continental spread, which included cereals, fresh fruit, meats, yoghurts, and pastries, before ordering hot dishes. Josie opted for the pancakes, while I chose the vegetarian breakfast. Both were delicious, freshly prepared, and generously portioned, with plenty of refills of tea, coffee, and juice.
Cotswolds House Hotel & Spa is an exceptional choice for anyone wanting to explore the Cotswolds while enjoying a truly relaxing and refined stay. Despite its central location, it feels wonderfully quiet and calm. – First Impressions –
Stepping through the doors of Hotel Indigo Bath, you’re instantly greeted by a harmonious blend of classic Georgian architecture and boutique-style interiors. Think regal chandeliers, original period features, rich fabrics, and local art that celebrates Bath’s literary and cultural history. The check-in experience was seamless – friendly, efficient staff had us sorted in just a few minutes, and we were soon heading up to our room.
The lobby area is full of character and comfort, with a lounge for guests to relax, read or play board games. It feels more like a stylish townhouse than a typical hotel, with cosy corners, plush seating, and thoughtful design touches throughout.
– The Room – Architectural Beauty –
We stayed in one of the ‘Architectural Beauty’ rooms, and wow—it truly lived up to its name. The space is a perfect harmony of historic charm and contemporary luxury, where classic Georgian elegance meets modern boutique sophistication. The room’s palette of deep, moody blues and rich greys is beautifully accented by pops of bright pink and yellow, creating a vibrant yet refined atmosphere. During the day, natural light floods the space, making the velvety textures and antique brass fixtures shimmer softly. Adding to the room’s character, beautiful artwork inspired by Bath’s heritage adorns the walls, giving it a cultured, personal touch.
The king-size bed was massive, plush, and dressed in crisp Egyptian cotton sheets that felt silky against the skin. It was one of the comfiest beds I’ve ever slept in. The mattress had just the right balance of firmness and softness, giving me the best sleep I’ve had in a hotel in a long time.
The room also featured a sleek smart TV with streaming services, high-speed Wi-Fi (which never faltered), and a Nespresso machine complete with a selection of pods, perfect for a mid-morning pick-me-up or an evening treat. Complimentary still and sparkling water, a mini fridge stocked with local drink, and a stylish writing desk added to the sense of thoughtful hospitality.
The bathroom was like stepping into a private spa. Heated floors, rainfall shower, fluffy white towels and Temple Spa toiletries were generously provided, smelling divine and feeling luxurious on the skin.
The large, freestanding bath was incredible! deep and wide enough to truly soak in, with ambient lighting perfect for a relaxing evening soak. I spent a peaceful morning unwinding there, looking out through the window at the charming view of St John The Evangelist’s Church. The bathroom also had a large mirror with flattering lighting, perfect for a little pampering or getting ready for a night out.
Every detail in the room felt carefully curated – from the subtle scent that greeted me when I walked in, to the thoughtful power outlets near the bed for charging devices, to the blackout curtains that ensured the room stayed perfectly dark and peaceful throughout the night. The room felt like home, and I really loved it.
– Dine – We had already booked to go elsewhere for dinner that evening so we never got to try the restaurant sadly, but if you are dining at the hotel, here is what to expect!

Brasserie Beau Alternatively, you can dine in Brasserie Beau, which celebrates the best of Britain. Brasserie Beau adheres to a simple yet powerful ethos: only the finest British ingredients find their way onto the plates. They champion wild food and support small producers, ensuring every dish bursts with flavour. Executive Chef Liam Goldstone and his team orchestrate a symphony of taste, infusing each creation with care and seasonal magic.
Beau offers an escape from the bustling town centre – a sanctuary where you can eat, drink, and unwind. Whether you crave a leisurely brunch, a quality steak, or a classic Sunday lunch, the friendly and knowledgeable team awaits. Let’s not forget the extensive wine list, cocktail bar, and terrace – perfect for a hot Summers day!
We had a few drinks at the bar and enjoyed a couple of pints of beer and an espresso martini, staff are great and very knowledgeable.
– Sleep –
Despite the central location, the hotel was incredibly peaceful. The bed was so comfy I didn’t stir once during the night – and I usually wake up at least twice in hotels. It was pure, uninterrupted bliss. No corridor noise, no outside disruption – just a perfect night’s sleep.
– Breakfast – Breakfast takes place in Brasserie Beau, which is wonderfully decorated and spacious, with hidden little corners if you want a quieter affair. Breakfast was included in our stay and started the day off perfectly. It’s a mix of continental and hot à la carte options. Think freshly baked pastries, seasonal fruit, creamy yoghurt, and granola – plus a full cooked breakfast with top-quality sausages, bacon, and eggs cooked however you like them.
I ordered the Full English Breakfast – Cumberland sausage, smoked streaky and back bacon, braised mushrooms, grilled tomato, hash browns, baked beans, fruit pig black pudding, served with scrambled Cacklebean eggs. It was filling and delicious!
We enjoyed freshly squeezed juices, great coffee, and warm, friendly service. Even if breakfast isn’t included, it’s absolutely worth the extra £24 for the cooked option – I’d happily go back just for that spread.
– Extras & Amenities – Hotel Indigo Bath also has a luxury private gymnasium available for guests (ideal for a quick session), a business hub with meeting space, and a concierge team who are super helpful with local tips. The hotel’s eco-conscious approach is noticeable throughout, with sustainable features and thoughtful touches.
Valet parking is available, though it’s £40 per night – something to factor in if you’re driving. Check-in is from 3:00 p.m., and check-out is at 11:00 a.m. There are 154 individually designed rooms, and if you’re celebrating or travelling as a group, they even have a private townhouse you can book for extra space and privacy.
The hotel is fully smoke-free, and while pets aren’t allowed (except assistance dogs), it’s a peaceful, luxurious spot to stay.
– Final Thoughts – This is by far my favourite Hotel Indigo I have stayed in. Oozing luxury and period interior throughout, the attention to detail and excellent customer service make it a win-win hotel for me. Hotel Indigo Bath really impressed me. It manages to feel special and boutique without being pretentious – and the central location makes it ideal for a Bath city break.
Whether you’re heading to Bath for its spas, rich history, or just a weekend to relax and recharge, this hotel ticks all the boxes. I already want to go back!
I have to be honest – cruises have never really been my thing. For me, the idea of cruising always felt a bit… well, old-fashioned. I pictured cruises as something for a more mature crowd, where you barely get time to explore destinations and are stuck in claustrophobic cabins. So, when Virgin Voyages invited me aboard, I was intrigued. Their marketing promised something different – an energetic vibe, people smiling and dancing the night away, and a younger, fun-loving crowd. I thought, why not? With an open mind and a little scepticism, I decided to give it a shot. After all, this wasn’t just any cruise line; it was Virgin Voyages, one of the most talked-about cruise lines out there!

Adults-Only Bliss and All-Inclusive Goodness
One of the biggest selling points for me was that Virgin Voyages is an adults-only cruise – guests must be at least 18 years old. Don’t get me wrong, kids are great, but on holiday, they can be a lot…so this really sold it for me. Another big win? Virgin Voyages follows an all-inclusive model, meaning no hidden fees or surprises. Gratuities, Wi-Fi, food, coffee, tea, soft drinks, and fitness classes are all included. You can add an alcohol package in advance or pay as you go – everything is designed to be easy-going with a “we’ve got you covered” attitude.
We opted for the “Starry Nights in Greece and Croatia” itinerary, a 10-night round-trip sailing from Athens. This cruise was a dream come true, ticking off so many destinations from my bucket list. And the price? Starting at £3,831.24 for two people.
The App: A Lifesaver (Mostly)
Before setting sail, I downloaded the Virgin Voyages app, which turned out to be an absolute lifesaver throughout the trip. The app lets you explore restaurant options, check the entertainment schedule, and receive important updates like excursion reminders. Virgin offers a variety of port excursions called Shore Things, including winery tours, cooking classes, and adventurous boat and kayak expeditions plus more!
But, as with most tech, it wasn’t flawless. We encountered a few technical glitches – slow restaurant bookings, messaging errors, and loading delays. Despite these hiccups, the app was incredibly helpful overall.
Smooth Sailing: embarkation and disembarkation
Embarkation and disembarkation at each destination was seamless. The app notified us when the ship had arrived, embarking times, and whether we needed to book a slot for a charter boat (which is required at some destinations). Booking a day in advance is highly recommended, as slots can fill up quickly. We forgot to book a charter boat for one destination but managed to get on one without much hassle. Virgin also provides free shuttle buses or boats to city centres in most destinations, saving you money on taxis – a thoughtful touch, especially when we saw other cruise passengers haggling for cabs!

First Impressions: Jaw-Dropping
Arriving in Athens and seeing the Resilient Lady for the first time was, quite frankly, jaw-dropping- a bit of a surreal moment. I’ve never been near a cruise ship before, and honestly, it was like seeing the Titanic—massive and imposing! The ship can carry up to 2,700 Sailors (guests/passengers) in 1,408 cabins. With over 20 restaurants, numerous bars and lounges, a mega-nightclub, performance spaces, a pool with chic loungers, a giant whirlpool, a karaoke bar, the luxurious Redemption Spa, high-end shops, and even a tattoo parlour—this ship had it all!
Checking in was a breeze. We had selected our check-in time before arriving in Athens, and when we got there, there were no queues in sight. We received wristbands that acted as our identity cards and payment method, making it super easy to check in and out of the cruise and pay for drinks. The staff welcomed us with warm smiles, and our bags were already in our room by the time we got there—now that’s first-class service! Although we only caught the tail end of the arrival party, I recommend heading straight to the top deck when you board to join the fun and grab a glass of bubbly.

Accessibility: Thoughtfully Designed for Everyone
One thing that really stood out to me was how thoughtfully designed the Resilient Lady is when it comes to accessibility. Every floor had accessible toilets, making it easy to find facilities wherever you were on the ship. The elevators were abundant, ensuring that guests with mobility needs could navigate the ship without any issues. From the pool areas to the lounges, everything felt inclusive and accessible.
Top Deck: Fun in the Sun and More
The top deck was a paradise of activities and relaxation. There were two swimming pools—one large pool with a bar and a smaller, more intimate pool also with its own bar, making it easy to grab a drink while you lounged. And if you’re a fan of soaking in a hot tub, you’re in luck – there were several Jacuzzis scattered around the deck, perfect for unwinding with a view of the open sea.
For those who like to stay active, the top deck featured a running track and a basketball court, so you can keep up with your fitness routine even while on vacation. There were also fun activities like seesaws, ball games and various lounge areas throughout the ship, offering plenty of spots to relax, socialise, or just take in the stunning views.

The Room: Cosy and Functional
As we wandered around the ship, we were in awe of its sheer size. We found our floor and accessed it via one of the many elevators (the ship is very accessible with plenty of elevators and stairs). When we opened the door to our Sea Terrace room, we were greeted with a spotless space complete with a balcony and a cosy hammock. Everything was neatly arranged—towels, information booklets, mini fridge, fresh water, and a tablet to control the room’s lights, blinds, TV, and more. There was ample storage for our clothes and toiletries, making the room very comfortable for two people. The bathroom was compact, as you’d expect on a cruise, but it was functional and well-designed for our needs. The balcony quickly became our favourite spot, where we enjoyed many sunsets and breakfasts.
Room service was available, and an electronic system outside the door allowed us to request room cleaning. Additional services like laundry and “Ship Eats” were offered, though they came at an extra cost. Unfortunately, we had a minor hiccup with “Ship Eats.” Some menu items were missing, and the quality wasn’t great. However, the issue was resolved within 10 minutes of reporting it, so we were satisfied with the quick response.
As a British gal, my only complaint was the lack of in-room tea-making facilities. I do love my tea, and while you can get as much as you like from The Galley (which I certainly did—about seven cups a day!) it would have been nice to have a kettle in the room. But I understand that Virgin wants you to get out and explore the ship.
Now, the most common question that flooded my inbox was: Can you hear the sea at night? And can you feel the boat rock? It wasn’t until the second night, during a storm, that I felt the ship rock a little, which made me slightly dizzy for about 30 minutes. But other than that, I didn’t hear or feel a thing—unless, of course, you leave the balcony door open (which I strongly advise against!). Overall, my sleep was peaceful every night.
Restaurants: The Choice Is Yours!
When it comes to dining on Virgin Voyages’ Resilient Lady, you’re truly spoiled for choice. With 20 dining options onboard—all included in your ticket price—you’ll never have to worry about extra costs piling up. It’s all covered! You can even revisit your favorite eateries as many times as you like, thanks to Virgin’s refreshingly laid-back booking system. We met a few seasoned cruise-goers who couldn’t stop praising the flexibility Virgin offers, especially compared to other cruise lines that often impose restrictions on restaurant bookings.
As for my personal favorites, I couldn’t get enough of Pink Agave, Test Kitchen, The Wake, and Gunbae. Each offered a unique culinary experience that kept us coming back for more.

I recommend booking your dining spots as soon as possible since they do tend to fill up quickly. The food quality and variety onboard were nothing short of impressive. Whether you’re in the mood for Italian, Japanese, Mexican, or something entirely different, there’s always something new and delicious to discover. The ice cream parlor was a real treat, especially on those warm, sunny days at sea. I was particularly smitten with the Butter Pecan—a must-try!

For breakfast, The Galley became our go-to spot. It’s the perfect place to start your day, and we couldn’t get enough of their fluffy pancakes and mouth-watering breakfast burrito. The variety of options at The Galley is extensive, and because it’s open all day, you can pop in whenever hunger strikes. It was a bit surreal to just help yourself to whatever you wanted without ever reaching for your credit card, but that’s one of the many joys of this cruise—no hidden costs to worry about.

And here’s something you’ll appreciate: No Buffet Lines! That’s right—there are no buffet restaurants onboard Virgin Voyages ships. Instead, food is prepared fresh and to order at each food station. You won’t find any extra-cost specialty dining venues on Resilient Lady either—they’re all special, and they’re all included in the price. Virgin Voyages has done away with the typical cruising clichés, but rest assured, with so many fabulous eateries on the ship, you’ll never go hungry.

If you’re looking for a cool spot to hang out during the day or in the evening, the Social Club is where it’s at. With bar games, indoor shuffleboard, quizzes, and more, it’s the perfect place to relax and have some fun. And let’s not forget the snacks—hotdogs, pretzels, sweets, shakes, popcorn – you name it! You can stuff your face 24 hours a day if your mood (or appetite) can take it. While restaurants have set dining times, The Galley and “Ship Eats” (room service) are available 24/7. Order as much food as you want, whenever you want. Just keep in mind that Test Kitchen does have a set menu.

Bars: Where Do You Start?!
Virgin Voyages takes a different approach when it comes to drink packages. Instead of the traditional all-you-can-drink packages found on many other cruise lines, they offer “Bar Tabs.” This system allows you to preload a set amount of money onto your tab, which you can use at any of the bars during your trip. Just keep in mind that the Bar Tab is specifically for alcoholic drinks—you won’t be able to use it for coffee, water, or sodas.

You can easily keep track of your spending via the Virgin Voyages app. If you’re in the mood for something more premium, barista-made coffees, fresh juices, specialty cocktails, premium beers, and top-shelf spirits like Ketel One, Hendrick’s, Patrón Silver, and of course, Moët, are available at an extra cost.
With so many bars on board, there’s something to suit every taste. SIP, the champagne bar, and The Manor are standouts, but my personal favorite has to be The Dock House. The cocktails there were incredible, and we loved the lively atmosphere, especially when they had live music or karaoke nights. Another hidden gem for cocktail lovers is the Red Bar in Razzle Dazzle. Tucked away inside the restaurant, it offers unusual but very cool cocktails that we thoroughly enjoyed.
As for coffee, while you can get free coffee throughout the cruise, if you’re after something a bit more special, I highly recommend Grounds Club. They make a fantastic flat white, and the pastries are absolutely delicious too!
Entertainment: No Boredom Here!
Whether you’re an early bird or a night owl, Virgin Voyages has entertainment options that will blow your mind. From epic pool parties and live music to jaw-dropping shows and immersive experiences, there was never a dull moment on board. I was particularly impressed by the quality and variety of performances—each one was nothing short of spectacular. The Red Room is the ship’s entertainment hub, hosting everything from Broadway-style productions to intimate live music sessions. The Miss Behave Show, a hilarious and interactive sing-along game show, was a definite highlight. The acrobats and dancers who took centre stage were mesmerizing, and even a round of bingo was unexpectedly thrilling!

One of the standout experiences was Scarlet Night, Virgin’s signature event where everyone dresses in red, and the ship transforms into a pulsating sea of crimson. It’s the kind of night where you leave your inhibitions behind and immerse yourself in the vibrant energy—it’s an absolute blast!
And if dancing the night away isn’t your thing, there’s no shortage of other activities. From invigorating fitness classes to unwinding in the luxurious Redemption Spa, where you can treat yourself to a massage or facial, there’s something for everyone. The ship also features a range of high-end shopping options, with designer brands like Chanel, Marc Jacobs, and Rolex as well as high street brands such as Sephora. The casino is also where you’ll find the entrance to The Manor – the nightclub with that iconic disco-tech crystal backdrop where everyone snaps a picture. On the first night, I was worried about getting a photo there, but don’t fret – there’s plenty of time to grab that perfect shot when it’s quieter. The Manor itself is a fantastic club where we spent a couple of nights dancing our shoes off – literally! One night, my shoe somehow flew to the other side of the dance floor! Oh, and don’t miss out on their wicked espresso martinis—they’re a must-try!
Shore Things: Adventures Ashore
Our itinerary took us to some incredible destinations, each with its own unique charm. We explored ancient ruins, lounged on beautiful beaches, and soaked in the vibrant local cultures. This cruise experience really depends on the destination. We made friends with a group from Manchester who had previously sailed with Virgin in Miami and noted that the crowd there was younger. On our cruise, the demographic was mixed – young professional couples, groups in their mid-40s, and mature guests looking for a relaxing getaway all found their place. We even saw some older guests partying harder than we did!
Is It Value for Money?

Some might argue that the time at each destination is short, but I found it more than sufficient. As we disembarked for the last time, I couldn’t believe the value for money. One of the destinations we visited was £1000 just for one day! Another destination was £900, so I believe we got incredible value for money – Virgin really nailed it, possibly even being a bit too generous.

Check-in was a breeze at the welcoming reception area, featuring a cosy lounge overlooking the picturesque garden terrace, promising delightful moments, especially during the summer months.
Our standard double room, reachable by elevator or stairs, welcomed us with modern decor touched with a hint of tradition, giving off holiday vibes reminiscent of St. Ives. Sparkling clean and invitingly cosy, the room had all the necessary amenities: a Nespresso machine, a mini-fridge, and a 40-inch flat-screen TV, ensuring a comfortable stay. The bathroom, perfectly sized and stocked with fluffy towels and toiletries, added to the overall feeling of luxury. I had a lovely dip in the tub later on in the evening and it was lovely and relaxing. There was also a great view from our bedroom of the Woodsman garden terrace that was lovely to look out at. We popped out for a little walk and returned to a lovely welcome message and a bottle of prosecco which I thought was a really lovely touch. We then unpacked, had showers then we got ready for lunch at the Woodsman.
THE WOODSMAN
We headed down to lunch at The Woodsman restaurant that is in the same building as Hotel Indigo. The Woodsman restaurant and bar is the brainchild of celebrated restaurateur Mike Robinson. Offering a mouth-watering menu featuring delicious British and sustainable dishes, Executive Chef Greg Newman passion for locally-sourced ingredients shines through. With a commitment to sustainability and seasonality.
At the heart of the restaurant is a bustling wood-fired oven and charcoal grill, where guests can watch skilled chefs whip up dishes showcasing British deer, wild boar, beef, and Hebridean lamb – all sourced from farms known for their ethical practices. We booked in for their delightful three-course menu, and enjoyed everything from poached chalk stream trout to 36-hour braised short rib of Westcountry beef, and my god, their gorgeous signature dirty mash…out of this world! It was a truly spectacular dining experience that I can’t help but recommend to anyone looking for exceptional food in Stratford-upon-Avon and when you come to stay at Hotel Indigo make sure to book in!
Once we finished our meal, we enjoyed a trip to the Butterfly farm and a wonder round the shops, followed by an evening spent at the nearby Everyman cinema. I really love Stratford, its filled with plenty of attractions and wonderful Independents for many to explore. Whether it’s indulging in a divine hot chocolate from Honey Blue, enjoying exquisite cocktails at Cafe Cocktail, or relishing in fine dining perfection at Salt, the options are endless. And don’t even get me started on the things to do here – boat rides on the Avon, Shakespeare plays at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, or a visit to Anne Hathaway’s Cottage. Spoilt for choice, it’s definitely one of the best spots for a quick Midlands getaway.
The following morning refreshed and rejuvenated, we indulged in a delightful breakfast spread served in the inviting dining room from 7am. A buffet-style breakfast was served from freshly baked pastries, vibrant fruits and cereals. The buffet-style setup allowed for leisurely exploration. What truly impressed us was the hot food menu, offering an elevated dining experience beyond the typical hotel breakfast fare. From perfectly poached eggs in eggs benedict to the hearty goodness of a full English breakfast, we really enjoyed it. The attentive staff ensured that our tea and coffee was topped up throughout and the breakfast experience surpassed our expectations, leaving us thoroughly satisfied and eager to return for more.

It’s been a while since I last visited this medieval market Town, my last visit I can recall being smacked in the face by butterflies, smelling what only can be described as “shite” through holes in the wall (in some bizarre Museum) and having to be dragged out of charity shops because I couldn’t stop buying ugly jackets. I haven’t exactly created a perfect picture for Stratford-upon-Avon however this visit is definitely a bit more appealing, I promise! My best friend and I decided to go for a bit of a girly day out, featuring a hell of a lot of banging bites, booze, and bitching…What do you expect? We are Girls…
Oozing history, beautiful architecture, and fabulous independents, and let’s not forget about the generous offering of attractions for families, great boozers for the tired parents, and picturesque parks for those who just want a bit of peace of quiet. Yes, Stratford-upon-Avon is the perfect day out.The Town Centre is just under a 10-minute walk from the station, and a lovely walk it is with medieval architecture, flowers in bloom, and fantastic shops to do a bit of window shopping.
When we arrived we were feeling a little bit peckish so we headed to The Cornish Bakery on Henley Street, a lovely little Bakery that is well presented offering a selection of pastries and hot drinks that you can take away or dine outside in their outdoor seating area (currently no seating inside due to Co-Vid) I went for a Cornish Pastie with sweet potato and feta, god it was beautiful. The coffee tasted great and the staff there are generally very friendly there A great start!
We next went for a little walk around the Town, down some quiet streets full of pretty doors that you would see plastered all over Instagram and Pinterest. The weather was so hot, literally was gasping for a drink every five minutes so we thought…BEER. We headed to The Rose & Crown pub (Part of Greene King pubs) which is a lovely traditional pub with quite the quirky outdoor seating area with a cool-ass barn in the back. very spacious, great drink selection (especially Ales) and a relaxing atmosphere, no old rowdy men here. The pub also serves food which we didn’t order but looked great, its dog-friendly, Table service, and all CO-VID measures are in place, so I felt very safe in there. I went for quite the large Abbott Ale that went down a treat.
Next, we went on another walk around the town popping into some independents, brought a gorgeous vintage bag from Razzle Dazzle in The Courtyard which is a beautiful quirky little vintage shop with very appealing prices! full of vintage attire, jewellery, and I also spotted a few hideous jackets that I just bloody adore. Stratford-upon-Avon is home to a lot of amazing Bakery independents such as York’s, Daisy blue, and MOR Bakery. I hear the Cruffin’s at MOR Bakery are out of this world so of course, I had to pop in and order one. I wouldn’t say they are out of this world but my god, they are out of this bloody UNIVERSE! Say hello to peanut butter and jelly cruffin. Inside MOR Bakery was pretty busy however they now have a take-out hatch where you can order take out coffee and bakes such as cruffin’s!
For lunch, we decided to go to The Fourteas on Sheep Street which is a beautiful 1940s tea room, if you are a lover of all things vintage you will love it here! Tuck into an afternoon tea surrounded by 1940’s decor accompanied by 40’s music. We sat outside on a beautiful little terrace outside that definitely came in handy in this heat! Feeling quite full from the ale, I decided to go for a light lunch opting for the frittata Zenios with chorizo and feta cheese. A very tasty dish that just did the trick of filling me up and giving me the energy to venture on yet another walk around the Town! I clocked the afternoon tea on the table behind us that looked pretty good so when I next come to Stratford it would be lovely to try it out!
We went for a walk around the River and I have to say as it was such a lovely day it was pretty packed. Full of families, couples, and so on, but all were keeping to social distancing rules. We did want to hire a boat however the queue was just way too big and waiting in this heat was not something I wanted to do. We sat on the bank of the river and admired the beautiful scenery.Most of the museums were shut but it didn’t really matter because there was still plenty to do and plenty of things to try…like more alcoholic beverages?
Onto the next pub, which is the very popular Actors pub called Dirty Duck, known to be popular with some of the theatre’s Actors/Actresses (They have a wall in the pub with all the actor’s pictures who have visited The Dirty Duck) The front was pretty packed out but they had a quiet little beer garden at the back in which we soaked up the sun in sipping on some Pimms! The service was great, the staff were very friendly and kudos to them for creating a safe environment to eat/drink in. Very popular pub so you may want to book a table before you visit!.
On the way back to the train station we popped into a few more independents and quite frankly some bizarre shops such as the all-season Christmas shop. The Harry Potter shop is a must-visit for true Harry Potters fans full packed full of HP merchandise for you to get your hands on even your very own wand! We walked past Shakespeare’s birthplace which was pretty impressive to see but, of course, we couldn’t go in due to Co-vid.
All that was left was a 40-minute train ride back to Birmingham! A day well spent trying out new independents, cooling down with booze, and soaking up the sun looking out on beautiful surroundings. So, this is the part of the holiday where it gets a little bit out of control…I mean like almost dying on speedboats in the middle of nowhere and seeing certain objects that should never be taken out or even associated with a vagina, out of control.
If your reading this then I am guessing you enjoyed part 1 of the madness Jessica and I experienced in Thailand, but it doesn’t stop there at Chiang Mai, I mean, have you not heard what happens in Phuket? Trust me it’s not all madness, but I don’t think we actually prepared ourselves for the madness that Phuket had to offer. So here goes part two, again I have put together a blog post with lots of photos, hilarious stories and recommendations. We travelled from Chiang Mai to Phuket and some of the Islands. THERE IS NO PLACE LIKE PHUKET…HOLD ON TO YA KNICKERS!
After a very tight and sweaty flight from Chiang Mai, we finally arrived in Phuket and jumped into the nearest taxi we could find. The taxi guy proceeded to get more and more people into the taxi with us, it was like a bloody school trip, but we met a couple of them and decided to go out in Phuket. After an hour in a sweaty taxi, we finally arrived at the hotel which was a 4-star spa resort called Deevana Patong where we had a cute little bungalow to ourselves and was completely surrounded by lots of BUSH. It was around 8 pm and we headed to the famous strip in Phuket-Patong Beach. Now if you haven’t heard of Patong Beach, just imagine the strip in Malia but on a larger scale, more wild with half-naked women dancing to The Weekend, lights flashing so much they could give anyone an epilepsy fit, theatrical grand entrances to clubs and signs smacking of your face offering half-price sex shows and of course, a good time. The weirdest thing about this strip was that families were walking up and down carrying pushchairs and holding on to their clueless little kids who would just point at the bright lights. So innocent, what they don’t know is that the bright light that they are pointing at actually belongs to a strip club. As Jess and I were walking up the strip we noticed the two lads we met in the taxi, they took everyone’s numbers and mentioned that they couldn’t get in touch with the other two girls…hmmm. Anyway, we thought let’s give this Patong Beach a bloody go! So, we ordered in the shots, we ordered in the buckets and we pretty much ordered whatever the hell we wanted because it’s so dirt cheap out here, it was like getting pissed royally. The drinks started to kick in and we were all, how can I say it…. completely twatted. So, what do you do when you are so drunk and have lost respect for yourself?
You go see a ping pong show of course!
PING PONG SHOWS: “I HAVE NEVER PLAYED PING PONG WITH A VAGINA BEFORE”
So, the strip in Patong beach is just packed full of men and women holding up signs for ping pong shows, you simply can’t miss them because you will most likely walk into about four of them in one minute. We approached one of the guys who was holding up a sign for the show, we told him we were interested, and he said “follow me” then proceeded to take us down one of the side alleys of the strip. I was pretty drunk, but I remember at the time thinking “Oh balls, this would be scary if I was sober right now” From the outside, it was honestly like a scene from Grand Theft Auto Vice City where your about to rob a hooker house. It was a house, a very big American-like house like X-men but of course, on a small scale. We walked in and entered this massive room with a stage with two naked women performing and Drake on blast.
You have to buy a drink, and they cost about £20 for one bottle of Corona but that’s your entrance, show, and drink fee, BUT YOU HAVE TO BUY ONE if not, your gone and especially if you get your phone out. Looking around you have a right mixture from old men to couples of all ages just watching the show with smiles and all. To be honest with you, strip clubs are not my thing, I went to Legs11 once and it just wasn’t my cup of tea, but the free chicken wings were, so that is the only positive I have to say about strip clubs. I don’t know if it’s because they all look miserable but I mean, come on, there is nothing to feel all hot and excited about when you are performing in front of a bunch of 60-year-old men dribbling over you and can’t even “make it rain” on your ass.
But Thai girls, they love it. They genuinely look like they love their job even if it does involve shoving a goldfish up their fanny. When we entered the club, the show seemed to get a little bit more exciting probably because the young lads we were with and me and Jessica were cheering them on. We also, “got involved” with the girls and what I mean by “getting involved” is quite literally getting involved in playing tennis with their vaginas… At one point watching Jessica go head to head with a vagina, You could have told me I was at Wimbledon watching a Tennis match, I would most likely believe you as I was that drunk…Next thing I know I was on all fours on the floor trying to figure out how they shove a Budgie bird up there and a string of razor blades?!! I think the girls were loving our side of the room as they kept trying to get us all to interact with them, how it didn’t end up in a full-blown orgy I will never know.
MEETING THE PING PONG GIRLS
So, with all the drink, I consumed…a girl gotta pee. So, I headed to the bathroom whilst everyone was waiting outside for me and I noticed two of the “Ping Pong” girls in there. They asked me if I enjoyed the show and of course, I asked them the million-dollar question ‘Where the hell do these objects go in your vagina?” of course they said something in Thai and I didn’t have a clue what it means but she made a hand gesture of almost like a vacuum cleaner up the Vag. God knows what that means, but they shook hands with me and walked out of the bathroom. I was on my way out of the club with the others and then I realised “Fuck, I just shook hands with them, and they had their hands up to their vaginas all night”
ISLAND HOPPING: TAKE A PILL, HOLD AND PRAY
So, Jessica and I grabbed a boat to get to some of the Islands in Phuket. We hopped on board a small speedboat with an open deck with seats, when we were about to set off the driver said, “Whoa no one is leaving without taking an anti-sickness tablet” Yes, the Andaman Sea is not full of treasure, it’s full of puke.
We went on the top deck of the boat…what a mistake because we took off and everyone on the top deck was thrown like rag dolls, Jess and I were holding on for dear life and some people, well were just completely out of it…
This was a complete stranger falling asleep on Jess’s shoulder….
DID I DIE AND WAKE UP FAMOUS?!
After an hour on the bumpiest ride of my life, we finally managed to check out a couple of the Islands. We saw Maya Bay and waved to Leonardo DiCaprio, jumped into paddle boats and went through the sea caves of Koh Talu, sunbathed in Koh Bon and went scuba diving! We also went to Khao Phing Kan known as “James Bond Island” now, I have been doing some research on this and still don’t know the reason why we had multiple people coming up to me and Jessica asking for selfies. I was just minding my own business taking a photo of that weirdly shaped rock and I suddenly felt a tap on my shoulder, I turned around and it was a group of guys asking if they could have a picture of me. I was so confused but agreed to do it as they seemed really innocent, but then after that, another guy came up to me with his WIFE?! Asking for a photo. I was thinking has something happened back home that I don’t know about. Am I millionaire walking round like I don’t have a bloody clue or are they getting mixed up with someone else? Weirdly enough Jess came over to me and was experiencing the same thing. We were only on the island for an hour, but it was the most bizarre hour of my life. I don’t have a clue what they have done with those photos, I might be on some Thai wife for sale website for all I know, that would explain the weird “Guywithhugedick wants to send you a message” emails I keep getting ever since.
THE ISLAND FULL OF CATS AND BIRDS
Another bizarre Island was Ko Panyi which is amazingly built on stilts! You might recognise this Village if you have watched “Jack Whitehall’s travels with my father” with the floating football pitch which was pretty cool to see. As we were walking around it had like these dingy little areas which we had to question ourselves if we were actually allowed to go down as it was part of people’s houses. Cats were roaming everywhere, never seen so many cats in my life and there were hundreds of these little birds in cages hanging up. They have a school, police station, health center and mosque on that tiny island which is bizarre because people are going about their day and then you just see tourists taking pictures of them, a very bizarre experience, not too sure I would like experience again.
The one thing I will say is Thailand’s strippers are so friendly, they want to include you in the fun and to be honest this one stripper that was dancing, I don’t think she even cared about the money because she just demanded girls to get up and dance with her. I was drunk but I wasn’t “lets dance with my tits out” drunk yet so I was just her little cheerleader on the side but fair play to Jess she got up there, although it kind of reminded me of a constipated hamster on a pole…Sorry, Jess haha but no one cared, it was fun! We got to play snooker with even more randoms, share these buckets that took me back to the sharing jugs in Weatherspoons and we all just let our hair down whatever problems we had back at home they were gone for this night. Even bashing a nail on the head with a hammer was fun? Yes, it’s a drinking game over in Thailand that could but luckily didn’t end up nasty, even the bartenders were getting involved and throwing drinks at us, and some for free.
That night Jess and I got separated from each other. I found myself jumping into a rooftop pool at 2 am in the morning and sharing a kiss with one of the guys who we met on the way to Phuket. Although it maybe wasn’t the best time to get close to someone as I split up with my boyfriend of 7 years and was completely clueless if I was okay to do this sort of thing (me being a stupid girl) I’m glad I did, it could have gone further but it didn’t because I’m just not that girl who has one night stands and moves on so quickly plus I was still thinking about him. I was so lucky that night because I could have found myself in a situation where the lad could have turned around and said “no, you are not leaving and we are going to have sex” but he fully understood I was so confused and hurt by the situation back home. We chilled out, talked and then he helped me get home.
DON’T EAT SALADS
After all the junk food we consumed, I just wanted something nice and refreshing like a salad. We found this lovely little restaurant in the town and although I got my salad, I also got a little something extra as well…The shits. Oh my goodness, I have never run so fast for the toilet in my life, luckily we got back and I was outside, Jess was inside sleeping and I just remember thinking “I do not feel good” and running for the toilet, good lord I think the whole of Thailand came out of me that night. Whatever you do in Thailand, just make sure you don’t eat a salad over there.
It was finally time to say goodbye to Thailand and I remember staring at the sunset in Phuket airport waiting to catch our flight home. I remember thinking I don’t want to go home; I knew what was facing me and I just didn’t want to be an adult and deal with it yet. The grieving process of a relationship ending, a job that I am not fussed about, and really, reality. So many hilarious and amazing memories with my cousin on that holiday, memories that make great stories to tell those who are feeling down and will guarantee to get some giggles. I miss the Thai coffee that gave us the shits, the beautiful and the not so beautiful scenery we would wake up to, the unwelcomed visitors (Lizards) that at the time was terrifying but looking back comedy gold and just living the best life with my best friend Jess. I think Thailand was the start of learning to love myself and I was starting to figure out what I wanted in life, and it will always be a holiday that opened my eyes and finally realising what I want in life. A big thank you to Jess for coming with me, she knew I was down, and she knew I needed it so much and it did help, Thailand I’ll never forget you and your bloody mad ways!

Well, it’s not the best start to 2020, is it? for many holiday seekers relying on that booked holiday to finally relax, top up their tans and maybe even find love, are sadly having to cancel their 2020 treat due to the outbreak of CO-VID 19. Yes, corona, you have well and truly buggered 2020 “The year that was going to be my year,” said the so many millions of people that say the same quote every year. However, let’s not take this as a negative because this year could be the year to reflect, plan and save for 2021.
I find that as you get older the time just flies by and sometimes you just don’t have the time to sit down with yourself and think “Okay, what do I want to do?” I am finding whilst I am self-isolating, that I have all the time in the world to think, thoughts that have never crossed my mind are now quite common in the past week and of course, memories. I was flicking through my phone and came across my Thailand photographs in which I started laughing straight away because I remember before I went to Thailand I felt very down about life, and I just wanted to escape Birmingham for two weeks with my cousin Jess. The memories we made, the experiences we experienced, and my god, the laughs we had. I looked back at the photos in which I am gleaming, I look so happy and you wouldn’t think I just came out of a seven-year relationship with someone who I thought I was going to marry. I wanted to step out of my comfort zone, and Thailand was just that because I never fancied Thailand! a couple of my friends went before me and I would think “Why the hell would you want to go to a place like that?!” but soon as I got off that 12-hour flight, Thailand threw everything at me from condom restaurants (Yes for real), sex shows, to walking amongst beautiful temples and elephants. I learnt a lot from Thailand, and it’s a destination I would recommend to anyone in a heartbeat and so, if you’re gutted about your holiday being cancelled in Spain why not step out of your comfort zone and explore Thailand?
So I have put together a blog post with lots of photos, hilarious stories and recommendations. We travelled to Bangkok, Chiang Mai and Phuket so there is a lot to get through so there is going to be a part 2. BANGKOK- WHERE WE ALMOST GOT ARRESTED
When we first arrived in Bangkok, we arrived with a bang…quite literally. It was like a scene you would see in a cartoon, we got off our 12-hour flight, grabbed our suitcases and headed to the escalators to get out of Bangkok Airport. We stepped onto the escalators (no steps) and missed the sign to hold onto our luggage- well my cousin Jess did, because the next thing I heard was the loudest screeching ever, so loud that the whole of the airport looked our way with panic expressions. I looked forward and I just see this suitcase running away from Jess and her running after it down the escalator. I couldn’t stop laughing and what was worse is that I needed the toilet so bad, I was having to control my bowels whilst laughing. The suitcase was heading towards these two doors made out of glass and I remember thinking “Oh shit, we are going to get arrested” the suitcase slammed of the glass doors, the sound was honestly like a bomb had gone off but luckily the doors never smashed. Jess grabbed the suitcase where security was standing looking very unimpressed. A close call to getting arrested and sharting but a moment I’ll never forget.
CABBAGES & CONDOMS- THE CONDOM RESTAURANT
I remember coming across this restaurant online thinking “This is not real! It’s got to be a joke?” so when we jumped out of our Tuk-Tuk and saw the sign and light shades made out of condoms, We knew instantly that this is going to be the weirdest dining experience we will ever experience in our lives. Just imagine condoms everywhere, floating in the sky, on the tables, mannequins and flowers made out of them, it got to the point I was starting to imagine dicks as well. The restaurant has a mission to help prevent sexually transmitted diseases and Hey, I thought I was just here for food but found myself in a sex-ed class reading of all the information boards on what you should and should not swallow. The food is pretty basic, but the springs rolls are pretty amazing, but I just kept catching the 100 condom light shades staring at me whilst eating and I couldn’t finish my rolls as I was thinking about dicks again. A very surreal experience and to our amusement when we paid for the bill, I was expecting some complimentary mints that you usually get at a Thai restaurant but nope, they gave us complimentary condoms instead.
MASSAGE- WITH AN ADDED CHEEKY FINGER
Okay, so we all know about the happy ending massage parlours in Thailand so can you imagine my face when I ask for a traditional massage and got more than what I asked for?! We went to some random parlour on the street in Bangkok, didn’t look into it but we were so desperate for a massage. They first scrubbed our feet then took us to this pitch-black room upstairs with two mattresses on the floor and told us to remove our clothes. We didn’t think much of it at first as it was just two middle-aged women plus, we have never had a Thai massage, so we did as what we were told and removed our clothes. This woman I had was pretty good she poured oil down my back and was rubbing all the knots out, from my neck to my feet however as she was gliding back up with the oil she got to my bum and well she, did me over didn’t she?! The crafty fucker slipped a finger in where no fingers shall ever go again, it was like 5 seconds, but I kept fighting with myself thinking if it happened or not. Soon as the women left I turned to Jess literally gobsmacked “I just lost my finger in bum virginity” We couldn’t stop laughing, Jess said her lady straddled her and kept thrusting her vagina in her bum, we couldn’t get out of there quick enough but my back felt great after so I’ll give her that.
CHIANG MAI- WHERE WE ALMOST GOT EATEN ALIVE.
Chiang Mai was one of my favourite places in Thailand although we had a lot of run-ins with the wildlife there, some good and some bad. One of the nights, we decided to take a look at The Night Bazaar which has everything from furniture to crocodile on a stick. On the way back we decided to get a Tuk-Tuk halfway then walk home. As we were walking past an alley, we could hear some growling, we looked down and there was a group of wild dogs. Now, these are not the dogs you get back home, they are almost mutated, dribbling and covered in wounds, not a pretty sight. They clocked us, then they started barking and charged at us. I have never run so fast in my life; I did not want to get eaten alive by dogs even if they are one of my favourite animals. The night didn’t stop there, as we were running a couple of rats decided it was a marathon and ran in front of us, so we screamed some more and increased our speed. When we got back to the hotel which was in the middle of the jungle, we felt so relieved until what I can only describe as a massive lizard orgy on our door to our room, the audacity of these big fuckers out here.
ELEPHANT NATURE PARK- A TRULY REMARKABLE EXPERIENCE
So, there is a lot of negativity when it comes to animal welfare with Thailand and especially with elephants. A lot of these horror stories you hear from elephants forced to dance to the public, carrying logs up mountains and working as beggars on the streets are sadly true. The biggest con of all is these “sanctuary’s” that make you believe that they are taking care of the elephants but when they close the doors after you leave it’s a different story. So, Jess and I did some research into legit sanctuary’s for elephants and the elephant nature park came up founded by Lek Chailert who has dedicated her life to rescuing abused elephants and is one of Asia’s heroes for animal welfare. Before you arrive you are educated in these amazing animals and how they are abused all over the world, you get to know some of the nature parks elephants stories but when you see the elephants now you wouldn’t have thought they had such a tragic past. They are chasing each other, flapping their ears and are free. No bull hooks are allowed in the nature park, each elephant has a keeper to look after them and you can see the incredible bond, they all have.
One elephant that I just fell in love with and had a tragic story was Jokia, Her story is very upsetting-Warning senstive content -Jokia is a female elephant who worked in the log trade. She suffered a miscarriage while pulling a log uphill and was not allowed to stop working to see if her calf was dead or alive. This event cause Jokia extreme physical and emotional trauma and she refused to go back to work. As a result, she was deliberately blinded in both eyes on two separate occasions by different owners.
Jokia has two best friends Navann and Sri Prae who help guide her throughout the park with their trunks. We got to meet Jokia and Navann, Navann was holding on to Jokia and they couldn’t stop flapping their ears when we greeted them. She looked so happy, for a human to hurt her like that and not attack us as we approached just shows how strong spirited and beautiful these animals are.
I shall call him Bagheera and he shall be mine!
The elephant nature park is something that will stick with me for a long time, they have strict rules of no riding, no ball hooks, no bathing, no performing and no abusing them in any sort of way. To see free elephants, behave naturally rolling around in the mud with their friends, chasing one and other and just smiling was enough for me. We did get to feed the elephants watermelon, watch them bathe in the lake and give them a stroke. The Nature park also recuse dogs, cats, and buffaloes, they all roam freely in the park and there are hundreds of volunteers who work to support the park
If you are going to a “sanctuary” where the workers carry bull hooks, promote elephant rides and elephant shows, they are chained, or not informing you about the welfare of elephants then it’s not a sanctuary, you’re paying these people to carry on abusing them. It might look great for a photo you riding on an elephant but many of the elephants at the Nature Park sanctuary have had their backbones dislocated because of this, the workers who they had worked for won’t see this (well, refuse to acknowledge) and sadly will abuse them, even more, to carry on with broken bones to make money or they die.

Not the best start to 2020 as I am currently suffering from the flu and then my asthma decided to come back being bitchy and all with me, so I am 99% rotting right now. So what do you do when your ill and feeling sorry for yourself? You get yourself on booking.com and book yourself a getaway, Christmas in Amsterdam here I come! Okay so I got a long time to wait but its something to be excited about as last year I went to Amsterdam for the very first time and fell in love. Real love, the kind of love you would give your last beer battered chip and miss an episode of Love Island for. Sorry lads but my heart belongs to Vegan Junk Food Bar in Amsterdam. Blue unicorn bread, rainbow coloured hot dogs and burgers that look and taste like well, burgers? It is the best vegan food I have ever had and of course, I would book a trip to the Dam just for that baby. Not only is it amazing for food but Amsterdam has a lot to offer, culture, architecture, the people, the art…I could literally go on all day but I thought I would post a photo diary of my trip to Amsterdam last year instead for you all to understand why me and my camera fell in love with this beautiful City.
